In March I began teaching in Vibrams. I started out slowly and for the first 6 weeks I got no issues or claims. My legs felt excellent and I loved the particular 'feel' of the vibram five fingers womens
. I became still not confident sufficient to race in these (in fact, I haven't raced at all given that March) and I also stayed away from longer mileage runs (5+ miles).
Then in mid-April I began to experience a 'pinching' sensation in my calf which will be followed by an most of out spasm. I would rest a week and vibram five fingers womens
then try to run again only to get it happen again (and once again, and again). Each time it would happen at a different mileage point from the run and would put a fast end to my training/running with the next week. I began resting pertaining to longer periods (2+ weeks) which was not easy for my family (call me a running addict) but each time I tried to run it might happen again.
Finally inside July I called that quits, took a full 30 days off and began receiving massage therapy for my calves. I bought a new pair of running shoes (not minimalist) and started to run again (very slowly). I have been back at it within the past 4 weeks but vibram five fingers running
only run twice a week and never farther than 5 miles at the same time. I am still VERY careful of how I run but up to now have not had just about any calf issues (knock in wood).
Aside from the physical pain and disappointment of being injured, that is never easy, I find the 'mental' effect that they are much worse - allow me to explain. Before this 'experiment' running with luck was my escape, my personal solitude. The phone were ringing, kids not crying and I'd that time to decompress plus relax. I LOVED to run vibram five fingers ottawa
and was carefree while i did. Unfortunately, since that things have changed.
I am now worried after i run that Let me re-injure myself. I run almost 'scared' and don't have the same confidence when before. I would even say that has affected my step and running form (not to mention the foreclosure of fitness that occurred vibram five fingers ottawa
over the past nearly a year with so much downtime).
