I don’t know really but compared to other languages I’ve looked at:
1. Endings don’t change in nouns and adjectives for gender.
2. Male is Masculine, Female is feminine and neuter is neuter.
3. Words not of French derivatives are shorter and simpler.
4. Simple English is simple with many 1 and 2 syllable words.
5. General subject-verb-object construction. An only possessive case has a fairly simple different ending.
The only real difficulty is in pronunciation which is due to the successive conquests of England and the changing of the original language from German. The French added another layer of Latin-derived words. There are a lot of ways to say things but only one is usually common. I remember my daughter at school in the Philippines. She would have an English test and often there would be a question like Select the best option: a. I have much rice on my plate. b. I have much rice on my plate. c. I have a lot of rice on my plate. She selected c. and was marked wrong, and of course, c is the best answer. b is correct too but native speakers seldom use it, at least where I’m from. I just explain that foreigners do not really know phrases most used by native speakers, and even though I might try to correct them, they cannot be told. cheap essay writing service
