It's impossible for me to vote as I grow plants by all 3 methods listed although I buy plants from nurseries so I can take cuttings from them for more plants or for friends.

I'd say that most of the plants I grow came from cuttings that I asked for from a friend or neighbour. In some cases, I have no choice but to buy a mature plant (although just a tiny one still) from a nursery so I can grow it to full size &/or take cuttings. For example, I know of no one who has a Stephanotis floribunda (Madagascar jasmine) so when I finally saw one in a nursery, I had to buy it! Where else would I be able to get a cutting or seeds for this very unusual plant (unusual in my area anyway)?

I find that plants grown from seeds seem to be the sturdiest & healthiest of all methods. I can control conditions from the very start to achieve just what I hope for. Very Happy
